Is it best to do this online myself......
Hi Peter You have a number of ways to compare mortgage rates..... you could trawl the high street yourself which can be very time consuming, you could also try comparison sites online BUT you have to remember that you are not a qualified mortgage adviser (I am assuming). There are so many pitfalls when comparing mortgage rates so it's always best to get a whole of market mortgage broker to do this work for you. Just because you see a low rate does not mean this is the best product for you, it might sound appealing but the low rates often command high fees. Every lender has different criteria which is becoming more and more complicated so even if you do find a great rate you may not qualify for this product and you have therefore wasted a huge a mount of your time. With the above in mind we would always suggest you speak to a broker first.
